Ram Dass or Richard Alpert (his birth name) was an American spiritual teacher who was born on April 6, 1931 in Newton, Massachusetts, United State. His father, George Alpert, was one of the founders of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Brandeis University. Ram Dass graduated with a PhD degree in psychology at Stanford University. After graduation, he worked as the assistant of the professor at Harvard University but then he left because of the controversial work there.
